We must be growing….more and more I hear different sirens blaring! Police, fire, ambulance; whatever it may be, it bothers me when I hear these sounds. I remember a time, and not so long ago, that when a siren was heard, everyone looked and wanted to know what was going on. Now, it seems that it is ‘old hat’ and most people just keep on with their daily lives when this happens. Are we now immune to the sound of somebody else’s pain? I guess it can only be expected as the town grows and more and more people move to our fine area. On a postive note, I saw a policemen walking about downtown today and it was refreshing to see. It’s nice to know that they are there if and when we need them!
Here is a little insight into our current real estate market. If you are considering putting your house on the market at a higher than market price just to test it out, my advice to you is to not bother. As much as it disheartens our current sellers, the fact of the matter is, our prices have certainly levelled off, and in some cases, have takena drop. The adverse media that we have been bombarded with in relation to high gas prices, higher food prices, the negative news regarding Bruce “C”, the unfortunate events that have affected the real estate martet in the U S of A, etc. has resulted in a lack of Buyers. So, if you are wanting to sell, or hoping to sell or perhaps needing to sell your property, I highly suggest that you listen to your Realtor® and price your home so that is in direct competition with the many other properties that are currently for sale.
